Time commitment: Approx. 4–6 meetings per year plus ad-hoc support
Term: Typically 3 years (renewable)

About Dinnington Rugby Club

Dinnington Rugby Club is a long-established community rugby club providing inclusive, safe and enjoyable rugby for players of all ages and abilities. The Club plays a key role in local sport, youth development and community engagement.

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help guide the Club’s future.

The Role of a Trustee

Trustees are responsible for the overall governance, strategic direction and long-term sustainability of the Club. Trustees work collectively to ensure the Club is well-run, financially sound and operating in line with its constitution and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act in the best interests of Dinnington Rugby Club at all times
  • Help shape and review the Club’s long-term strategy
  • Ensure good governance, financial oversight and risk management
  • Support safeguarding, health & safety and welfare standards
  • Support and challenge Club officers and senior volunteers constructively
  • Act as an ambassador for the Club within the local community

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from people with a passion for community sport. Previous trustee experience is not essential.

Skills or experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Finance or accounting
  • Legal or governance
  • Fundraising, sponsorship or grants
  • Marketing, communications or digital
  • Facilities or project management
  • HR, people management or volunteering

You should be:

  • Collaborative and willing to contribute time and ideas
  • Able to make objective decisions in the best interests of the Club
  • Supportive of equality, diversity and inclusion
